My son the movie maker

Today Angus made a movie for part of his homework. He came up with the storyline, took all the photos and then used movie maker to put it together and add a sound track. :) Rob uploaded it to youtube and Angus has spent most of the afternoon watching it over and over. Here it is - Splash - a Pie Production, starring a Dog, a Peugeot and the Toilet Under the Stairs!




In between being the best boy, catering division and technical advisor I managed to get some scrapping done. CIS is having a cybercrop and you've got until Wednesday to upload your LOs so hop over there and check out the fabulous challenges - you won't regret it!

This is my take on Karen's sketch, you had to choose your favourite entrée and use it as inspiration so I used the colours - red, cream and black to represent stuffed mushrooms - yum! It's another LO for my birthday album so I adjusted the sketch to 8.5x11. Kate gave me this gorgeous basket of goodies so that I had nice things to eat on my Birthday, her 12 year old daughter, Lauren made the Brownies and they were scrummy - it was a Birthday feast :)

I also whipped up a LO using Kerryn's recipe challenge. Here it is. I used old pre-digi pics of Zoe, taken the day after she turned one - such a stylish toddler lol. This challenge was a bit tricky because the recipe required shaped cardstock and I couldn't find a single piece (I know I have some damnit) so in the end I used this very bright (and a little scary) paper and substituted one of the 4 required patterned papers for the black cardstock.


Ok time for a stash slash update! As well as the two above I've done my first LO for the CIS Sketch Blog (to be revealed on Friday) so that's another three down, leaving 12 more to go. My stash is looking as fat as ever and I got my first Scarlet Lime kit on Friday - so much goodness but I will not yield - I can look but not touch until those 12 LOs are done and dusted.

woo hoo and boo hoo

I was feeling a bit chuffed because I actually finished off those pesky double LOs last night. But then I made the mistake of trying to finish off one last LO - this one had been hanging around since before Christmas and for some reason I just couldn't find any inspiration for it. I started it on Saturday though and was determined to complete it as it had become something of an albatross.

But when I looked at it, it was all wrong so I pulled it apart and started again (something I never do) but then when I looked at it again this morning it still wasn't right so I added some bits and pieces but in the end I had to walk away. It's finished, I guess, but I'm still not happy with it. Such a shame as I love the photo and we had such fun that day. So, here it is - any suggestions for fixing it? Or should I just relegate it to the bottom drawer for another six months?


But the good news is I can now move on to scrapping something that speaks to me and that disaster also represents 10 LOs down - 15 to go to reach my stash slash target ;)

Zooming

Wow another whole week has zoomed by. I'm not sure that I used the time well but it's gone now!

I had the pleasure of going to a 'Ladies Afternoon Tea' on Saturday and while I was there I read something funny on the back of the toilet door (yes I admit it - I'll read anything) it said "why is it that the person who is late is far jollier than the person who is waiting?" It made me laugh - time really is a relative thing!

As part of my stash slash I decided to go through the last of the packs I made up for the retreat I went to back in June and actually do the LOs. I soon discovered that I had completed three halves of double pages and I had stashed the packs containing the makings for the second side - out of sight out if mind! I now have one completed double LO (can you believe the left side was done in 2007 - oh dear slack scrapper me) and two semi-completed doubles - I will finish those off today (yeah sure!).

But, I do have some scrapping to share because I also rediscovered several other single LO packs and got to creating.

I also completed the latest Kim Archer snippet another double with the left side measuring 8.5" and the right side 12" - it's all about July. Not using a pack but done completely with supplies on hand :)



I also did Laura's Follow the Leader over at CIS and this is my LO (also using a pack from the retreat). It's the last FTL for awhile.



Hmm, time for a quick tally then - I completed five LOs over the weekend and I already had one done from earlier in the week and I've got another three almost done so, by the end of the day I should have a total of nine out of 25 stash LOs completed - not bad for one week! So continuing at this pace I should be able to lash and buy some fabulous new goodies in just over a week and a half! Ha!

Tuesday Lover

Grr, my post disappeared! My new lappy has a problem with its wireless connection and although I know I have to take it back to the shop I keep hoping it will just fix itself - silly really...

Anyway I'll try and remember what I'd written but it's never the same twice ;)

So, the title - so many meanings (and stolen from a CIS post) but today the weather was so marvellous it really was a day to love.

Just another day in the 'hood
I took my camera with me when Sparky and I went on our daily patrol of the neighbourhood. I was hoping to snap some shots of the kangaroos dozing in the sun but they were too far away. So, I turned the camera on another neighbour - this one told us off for interrupting its lunch!



I had some other shots I was going to post but blogger won't play so, I'll save them for another day.

Stash slash
The other night I was checking out the Boxx and I stumbled across a challenge Hailey had posted - she had found 25 sketches and challenged herself and anyone else who wanted to play to create LOs using the sketches and only stuff in their stashes. Hailey was really strict on herself and if a pizza box full of goodies arrived she couldn’t open it until the 25 stash LOs were done. I love her idea unfortunately when I found her challenge she was up to LO 24. But in the spirit of the challenge and in a bid to reduce my recently fattened stash I’ve decided to do 25 LOs before I use any new product – should be a piece of cake!! In fact my Pants on Fire LO was number 1. So, that means 24 to go – wonder if I'll even make a dent in my supplies?

Another collage

I received cries of protests over my selection of birthday snaps for yesterday's collage (yes AB I am referring to your comments!) so I've created another collage using a different selection of pics (Moi please note the ones of you are cropped above your waist). Enough people - it's how you look!

I also did another LO for my Birthday album - this one is about the colour of my nail polish.

I really shouldn't have done the journalling at 11pm - it turned out to be a bit like pigeon English - too late now!

I have Angus home sick today and he is demanding attention in the form of cuddles and lunch - so I'm off to be super-mum - Thanks for stopping by :)

Birthday pics

I visited Krissy's blog today and was inspired by her amazing photo collage so I made a simple one of some of my Birthday pics. Most of the photos are candid shots and therefore the people in them are horrified by the way they look (me included) but really they show what a fab night we had! Thank you to everyone who snapped these pics - I didn't touch a camera the whole night.

Moi gave me a 8.5x11 album to fill with Birthday LOs and I'm doing my best! I'm finding this is a fun size to scrap and I did another LO today - this one is of Rob. He was so fabulous getting everyone singing and keeping the karaoke happening - for someone who claims not to be a party person he did himself proud and really made my night a wonderful one to remember :)

I used this month's CIS Stylish Kit - yummy Webster pps. It's a grey old day here so the pic isn't too bright but you get the idea!

Don't worry there will be a LO will featuring Moi in her full singing voice - watch this space :)

Pay it Forward and a couple of LOs

You may remember that I took part in Pay it Forward - well yesterday three gorgeous cards arrived in the mail - all the way from the USA. Thank you Marie they're fabulous and will be put to good use :) Now part of the rules were that I had to post my gift here. So, here we go:



I've been working on my own PIF gifts for Karen and Moi and I'll be sending them off on Monday ;)

Last night I did an online clas with Moi over at Scrap of your Life. The LO was a 8.5x11 so it was perfect for my Birthday album. I really enjoyed the class and am really pleased with my LO - thanks Moi :) It's of my friends Felicia and Retlaw. Felicia is one of my swimming buddies and Retlaw trains with Rob.


I also tried to take a self-portrait for my album but all the shots ended up being pretty goofy so I decided to just go with it - here is the result.

The journalling says "a cheesy self-portrait taken of my newly-40 face. Ooh wrinkles!" I used the badge that Colleen gave me and insisted I wear at my party :) I thought it went well with the BG Lemonade papers. The design is based on Liz Webber's latest sketch over at A Page from my Sketchbook.
