Tick tock

It's school holiday time again. I've scheduled my work around them so I'm pretty much free for the next two weeks :) We don't have a lot planned but sometimes it's nice just to hang out. The weather has been absolutely freezing here so I've managed to get quite a bit of scrapping done.

Luckily the weather has come good again today though - too much time inside can lead to cabin fever!!

So, some LOs to share... This first one is my new favourite! It's the extra August Snippet over at Kim Archer Workshops @ Home, designed by Yvette Adams - not quite sure what it is about the LO that appeals so much, it just does!
Did I mention that I'm going to the Home and Away Retreat in November - I can't wait!

There's a cybercrop on over the Cisters - you've got until midnight Wednesday to get the challenges done (heaps of time left). The theme is reduce, reuse and recycle - here's what I created.

This one is my take on Karen's sketch - look at those tiny Marshall kidlets! Zoe won't even let Angus in her room these days let alone her bed!

This one is was for Laura's scraps challenge. Angus and his friend Calvin spent ages building this cubby. Good thing I took some photos. Some meanie came along and knocked the whole thing down - the boys say they will rebuild it but it won't be the same :(
And this one is for Kerryn's challenge - you had to scraplift a LO from the gallery. I chose one of Krissy's because I really liked the colour scheme and the design. The photo is of my sister Anne and me. Looking at it I think was taken around 1973.


Angus tells me it is time for a bike ride (we've already walked the dog today) so away I go. TFSB :)

All done and then some...

Woot woot - I did it! 25 LOs and not a new item touched! Got to admit I was becoming very tempted by all the new stuff that was amassing in the corner. But I stayed strong to the bitter end lol. Anyway the second no. 25 was done I ripped into that new stuff and had a scrapping frenzy!

So, some LOs to share:

This is my version of Krissy's sketch over at CIS. Angus had his hair braided when we were in Fiji. I printed these pics out way back in January but have only just scrapped them. Oops!

Remember, I mentioned the sketch site 52 sketches? Well I used their most recent sketch to scrap my last Fiji photo - printed photo that is - I still have a couple of hundred waiting in the wings but I think I'm done. I've got a fat album and Summer is about to roll around again.


Hmm, so what else? Well as part of my stash slash I tried to use all of the photos I had lying around and I did it! I'm completely out of printed pics. So, here is another LO using photos from January! When I got my new car, way back then, the dealer gave me a bottle of Moet to celebrate my purchase. As Rob doesn't drink I shared it with Janina - she was more than happy to partake in my motoring celebration! I still have to scrap the car - must print some pics lol. BTW I used the latest Lime Tart half tart kit for this LO - it was such a yummy kit and it's not often I have a reason to use pink these days :)

So, one more! This one is of my clever Sparky dog. On morning, a few months ago, he became obsessed with a corner in the kitchen, upon investigation we discovered that there was a space between the cupboard and the wall and there was also a gap under the kickboard that provided entry into the space - yep we had mice. Yuk, yuk, yuk! Now many of you are familiar with my great furry cat - she had not shown the slightest interest in our unwelcome guests... Sparky, though, true to his breed, did not rest until he had caught and killed those mice - what a good boy!


Right off to play with some more of those beautiful new products I've got hanging around. I really can't remember why I thought I needed to scrap 25 LOs using products on hand - crazy! TFSB :)

I completed another LO last night - this one is for the September favourites challenge over at CIS. You had to use nature pics and a sketch from August. I used the Ned Flanders quote for the title because it makes me laugh and seemed suitable. Zoe thought it was funny but Angus was merely bemused - oh well - not everyone has to get everything :)


While I was in the process of uploading the LO pic I found a photo I took of the the thank you cards I made for the people who came to my Birthday party. They were just little quick creations - based on a cute card I received from Kim Archer.

I've also been meaning to share the cool stand Ali M made me for my Birthday. It has all my recent LOs standing in it so people can have a quick look-see if they want to. Neat huh!

t-shirt daze

Wow, another week has slipped away - the weather here has been gorgeous and the wide outdoors has been knocking at the window inviting me to come out and play. As a result my backyard, front entry and courtyard are all beginning to look like real gardens instead of desolate wastelands!

I signed up for a new ning forum today - 52 sketches in 52 weeks, my blogging buddy Marie recommended it and it is chock full of fabulous sketches :)

But while I was there I noticed that the flat belly in five steps ad had also come along for the ride. What is it about me and that ad? Where in my profile does it say 'has enormous gut and needs help urgently'? Grr... I was in a meeting earlier today with 10 men and eight of them were in need of the services this ad but I bet none of them have ever been pestered by it.

Just to reassure myself I went and checked my middle regions in the mirror - nope still still flat and unassuming - phew! But that did cause me to remember I was wearing the fabulous t-shirt Janina brought back from Thailand. Check it out! It's the t-shirt a scrapbooker would design.


Here it is in close up - each spot of the design contains a bead or cluster of beads - very, very cool and groovy!

So, I guess that brings me back to scrapping lol (all thought patterns lead there...)

I got some scrapping in before a busy weekend - three LOs in all. One was for my sketchie duties at CIS - to be revealed on Friday. But the other two were just because LOs. I'm really pleased with this one as I took the photo way back in April last year and then just couldn't quite find the right way to scrap it. Then along came a Lime Tart kit (June I think) full of gorgeous papers that I didn't have a clue on how to use. And then it hit me - those papers and that pic were made for each other - what do you think?


And this one is of Angus delighting in the discovery of football cards on the balustrade. I used up the last of my favourite Pink Paislee paper on this one. I still have masses of embellies to go though...


So, now I am down to three LOs before I've achieved my stash slash goal. I rediscovered some old friends along the way but have also found some seriously strange stuff - wonder what I was thinking when I made those purchases -heehee!

Oh! I almost forgot my Birds of a Feather LO won a prize over at SOUL - woo hoo - I got a lovely bag of goodies in the mail - thanks Rach :) they've got some fab challenges this month if you're looking for something to scrap...

Another three bite the dust

Yes, it's been a scrapping bonanza in this house. I completed the two challenges that were part of the SOUL launch party. Check out the new-look store and forum it's fab!

So, the colour challenge was to use the colours in the new banner - blue, green, pink and brown. Not a colour combo I'd normally use so all the more fun :) I did another page for my Birthday album. This one is of Rob's sister and her friend, Suzanna. Tracey and Rob really aren't related at all but they're definitely soul siblings :)

This next one was for the quote challenge I used "birds of a feather (scrap) together". Lucrecia gave me this fabulous owl paper - it was just perfect for the theme and Lana gave me the awesome BG woolly owl - check them out in the CIS shop.

And here is a just because LO about my girl. The photo was taken back in January and she has changed so much since then - she is about 10 cm taller and 100 percent moodier lol! Zoe has her heart set on becoming a vet and she is such a clever scientist and mathematician I think she just might live her dream one day so that's what the journalling is about.


And to reassure you that I didn't just scrap the weekend away I'll give you a little update about the rest of Alison-world :)

On Saturday Angus' rugby team won the grand final. Although he couldn't play Angus got to kick off to start the game and his name was in the program. It warmed my heart that his teammates thought it was only right for Angus to kit up and take the kick that launched them into a winning grand final. He wore his medal with pride all day and I'm sure the rest of the team did too :)

Rob and I then had a cultural experience - we caught the bus home from the city. We went in to get the car washed and then realised we'd have to hang around for hours so we jumped on the bus and saw the world from a whole different perspective!

Then today we took Angus to Tournament of the Minds (oh so very early on a Sunday) before coming home to tackle the garden - the dog now has green feet but you can see where the garden ends and the path starts. The weather was so beautiful that I took the scooter out for a spin two days running. I love this time of year.

We celebrated Fathers Day with Zoe cooking dinner - Angus provided a head massage and an avalanche of kisses.

Oh and did I mention Australia won the rugby? I watched the second half all by myself so I did a little happy dance to celebrate!

Counting down

So, here we are at the end of another week :) Can't wait to see what the weekend will bring, apart from having to drive Angus here, there and everywhere, I don't really have any plans. My hands were a little shaky as I typed that sentence - pretty sure I just jinxed my chances of a quiet weekend scrapping!

So, I'm still working my way down to zero. I scrapped two LOs today plus the one I completed earlier in the week drops my 'to do' number to 9 - single figures woo hoo! I got some added incentive in the mail yesterday - this month's Lime Tart kits - so hard to look but not cut and paste - so very hard!

Anyway, it's Sketchie Friday over at the CISters blog so I can now reveal my first offical LO as part of the sketch team. If you haven't already done so, make sure you check out this week's sketch - Krissy designed it and it's fab - I rotated it for my LO.

Zoe got a bloom can for her Birthday and we've all enjoyed watching it grow and reveal its secret message. It had the words 'happy birthday' on one side of the bean and a picture of a cake on the other side - very cool!


This is the LO I created as part of Ginny's Mojo Boost (also over at the CISters). It's another entry for my travelogue (still unfinished more than a year after my trip). An interesting tree I found in Madrid. Sorry I took the pic of it in the late afternoon and the shadows are pretty bad but you get the general idea (lazybones me couldn't be bothered taking another pic at a better time of day!).


I can't share my third LO with you as it is for a game of scrapping whispers with the CISters - can't wait see everyone else's creations.
