Doubling up

It's been a busy few days. The 1st of the month heralded new challenges and a wp sketch :)

This is my take on it:

It's also school holidays here so, on Friday we took a drive out to the Cotter to view the construction work on the dam that supplies Canberra's water. It's being expanded from huge to truly enormous!

This pic shows the current dam wall and the monster trucks at work.

And this one shows the height of the new dam wall on the right - mind-boggling!

After morning tea at the beautiful Casuarina Sands we headed back into town to go to the movies.
While the rest of us were prepared to admire the icy water from a safe distance Angus had to get up close and personal. It was pure luck and the promise of the movie that kept him dry.

On Saturday I headed out to a charity craft day to raise money for kids with cancer. I had a great day. I let my hair down and scrapped a few 'just because' LOs. I even completed two double LOs something I haven't done for at least a thousand years. Photographing them was tricky but here you go. The first one is of my scrappy bus trip to Sydney:

This one is of Zoe and Angus picking up dog poo - something they love to do! Yeah right!! The expressions on their faces are priceless...

I also did this one about my favourite Spring thing to do - coffee at the Lake :)

And this is my favourite. Zoe dressed up for Book Week as a Cherub agent (child spy) from the series by Robert Muchamore.

I had to leave the craft day early to get to a surprise 40th Birthday Party. It was a fun night and the Birthday boy had no idea - it was fantastic seeing his face as he walked into the restaurant and saw everyone there, decked out in the colours of his football team (red and white for the Sydney Swans).

Sunday saw us entertaining two lots of out of town friends before I headed out to a scrappy Girls Night In. It was a fun night even if I only completed one LO while I was there. This one is for the theme challenge at Challenge Heaven - Birthdays, featuring a photo of a cake. This creation was my Birthday cake (also featured in my wp sketch LO above). Pandan cake - chosen and decorated by the kids.

Today we've been out for brunch and soon we're heading out to a barbecue - to be honest I need a rest, so I can only imagine how Rob feels as in between all of those activities he's ridden a total of 255 km!

But right now I off to walk the dog. The photos of me at the Cotter are particularly unflattering (which is why I haven't shared any). Those extra kilos I collected while recovering from my knee surgery are very obvious in Summer clothing - yuk! But with grit and determination they will soon be gone... and then you might see some pics of me lol. Ah vanity!

Thanks for stopping by :)
