Inspired!

Hello everyone - there is a cool new challenge happening over at wp - I'm in - what about you?

Here's the blurb :)

I think this comp is going to be fab. As a taster this month's DT challenge was to be inspired by this interior. How incredible is this room? I really don't understand the need for a TV though...

And this is my LO - hope you can see how it was inspired by the pic :)

In other scrapping news I've completed three of the four challenges for the wp cc. I'll be doing the last one as soon as I finish here!

So, this was for Krissy's challenge - use the sketch and scrap either someone sleeping or use a 'sleep' word in the title:Kate's challenge was to use the word dream. D-doodling, r-rhinestones, e-edge distressing, a-anaolgous colours and m-misting. So I chose my three colours - purple, blue and green and off I went but somehow purple became red and the wheels fell off my colour combo. Oh well here's the LO anyway lol.
Kirsty's challenge was to create a LO using a 'soft' colour scheme, at least 2 handmade embellishments and a dreamy theme/feel. I made a masking tape flower and punched some butterflies and painted them with luminarte paint and added bling. I also used a couple of MVB - handmade by Krissy :).

That's me in the pic - I'm about three. I'm not sure I nailed whimsical, my LO really wanted to go vintage but after my failed attempt at Kate's challenge I stayed true to task lol. Besides a photo taken in the 70s isn't quite vintage is it? Surely I'm not that old!!

Right enough chat! Thanks for stopping by I'm off to scrap :)

Come and be wicked with me

It starts tonight - see you there :)

Hmm, it's been awhile - what have I been doing?

Well, I did this LO using wp August sketch #4

One about me for change - my Mum was very rude about the journalling but you know what? I did work hard and I'm really proud of the job I did. So there Mum! Very mature (imagine me sticking my tongue out and stamping my foot lol).

Last weekend I did two blind scraps. This one was for wp.

This one was for Challenge Heaven - part of the cc.

I also did two of the three cc challenges. The theme was the outdoors. All the pics are from Zoe's NZ holiday. I used a gorgeous wp kit for the first one :)

The green flowers are a Prima iron-on, very cool! It has a 3D effect IRL. And it was very easy to use even for some unfamiliar with a iron such as myself lol.

Almost done but before I go here are a couple of pics - Angus as Dr Who (circa Tom Baker) and Zoe in full pilot mode.
Funny!

The Wind...

...is blowing straight off the snowy mountains - even if you can't see the snow you sure can feel it! Surely it's time to segue into Spring?

It's perfect weather for staying inside and scrapping, unfortunately the dog and his boy refuse to be convinced. I did sneak in some scrapping today while the dog was napping and the kids were at school ;-)

This one is for the CH number challenge - 3 x pics, pp, cs and circles. Zoe stylin' in a mesh fruit bag!

And here my takes on the last two wp sketches:

If you're looking for some scrapping action there is a blind scrap at Wicked Princesses tonight and Challenge Heaven has a cybercrop over the weekend too. I guarantee both events will be more exciting than the election.

TFSB :)

Rain...

The skies have opened and are refusing to close - good news because our dam levels are at 60 per cent and rising but bad news for photographing just about anything including LOs.

So, even though I have scrapped more, I have but one LO to share. It's for the CH sketch challenge:

I'm going to wait for better weather to share my sketch LO for WP but here is this week's sketch to get you creating :)

Oh and there is a new comp starting over at Scrapability Sketches - why not check it out?

Enjoy!

More

Yes, I have more LOs to share :)

First up are my two LOs for the wp cc. Krissy's challenge was to use the sketch provided to scrap a Christmas pic using non-traditional Christmas colours. This is what I came up with:

Kerry's challenge was a recipe of 2 pics, two flowers, a Christmas tree, ribbon and a decorative edge. Here's my take:

And now here's the 1st August wp sketch:

Here's my LO:

The journalling which is a bit hard to see says "When the Physio showed Rob and I how to strap Angus' shoulder we took photos - this 'how to' guide now adorns the fridge - so many steps to remember and so much tape!".

In my last post I mentioned that I'd taken part in the whimsy swap over at Challenge Heaven. Here's a pic of the wonderful package that Jacqui sent me. The trees and grass on my Santa Cricket LO (Krissy's challenge) were part of these goodies. Also check out the flowers Jacqui made - such a clever chickie!

I love the beginning of the month - so many challenges to choose from! Anyone got a suggestion for a challenge site I should check out?

A blog award then some

Mel bestowed this Bonny Blog Award upon me - thanks Mel :)

Here are the rules that go with it:

  1. Put the Swap Sisters Bonny Blog Award on my blog.
  2. Share 5 things about myself.
  3. Pass the award onto 5 other Bonny Blogs.
  4. Add links to my 5 chosen Bonny Blog Winners.
  5. Let them know they have been chosen to win the Swap Sisters Bonny Blog Award by leaving a comment on their blog.
So here are five things about me:

  1. If I had to choose between champagne and coffee I would give up both rather than choose.
  2. My favourite member of my household is the dog because he never argues with me or leaves stuff lying around and always looks at me with utter devotion and love.
  3. I love action movies and am happy to watch them by myself.
  4. All the towels in my house have to be folded in half longways, in half again and then into three – if someone folds them a different way I will refold them when they aren’t looking.
  5. I despise fake fingernails – I really don’t understand why anyone would want them hanging off the ends of their fingers making even the simplest task difficult.
And here are my five award recipients:

Aimee
Becci
Kate
Kylie

Marcia (even though she is in Bali for month)

I really hope none of them have fake fingernails...

So, we survived Zoe turning 14 :) I think she had fun - mainly cos she got to have her cake and eat it!

Here's a LO of when she was just a wee little thing in pink. The title was prompted by a discussion between a friend and I had about age gaps between our kids - her two are 21 months apart too and bicker as much as mine. This LO is for Kate's challenge over at the wp cc. That gorgeous flower was made for me by Jacqui Miles as part of the whimsy swap over CH.

There are some great challenges at the cc and plenty of time to get them done. Why not have a look?
I managed to squeeze in one last LO for Challenge Heaven before the end of July. This one was for the colour challenge - it's of Ange and me at the Shop and Crop Escape back in May.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Hail to the bus driver

Yesterday I went on a scrap shopping extravaganza! A bus trip to three Sydney scrapping stores - it was loads of fun and I came home loaded down ;) But the big benefit of the day was the money we raised to support our local breast cancer support group - scrappers are generous to a fault - yet another reason I love them!

Here's a peek at what I got:

And here's Janina and me in Bazzilland - just a small corner of the Penrith Superstore!

I haven't had a chance to scrap with any of my gorgeous loot yet but I've been admiring it at length :)

I had lovely scrappy day on Friday and created these two LOs - both for Challenge Heaven. The first one is for the theme challenge (holidays) - some shots of the beach at Newcastle - I still can't work out what all those pigeons were doing on the beach - Rob says they were on holiday too - maybe he speaks pigeon lol.

And this one was for the number challenge which was a bit of toughie this month - 5 word title, 4 pps, 3 flowers, 2 stamped images and 1 heart. That's Julie and me at the Shop and Crop Escape.

Now hold onto your hats - I made a card! A rare event but I think it turned out ok. I gave it to my friend and she seemed to like it :)

Zoë turns 14 tomorrow - Rob and I are blown away by the fact that in four and half years she might pack up and leave home - off to chase her dreams in other more glamorous locations... We decided not to think about it!

Have a great week and thanks for popping by :)
