Oh Scrappy Days

The rains are here! And that can only mean one thing - more scrapping :)

Yesterday I created:This is the latest Scrap Soup recipe over at Scrapability. It had lots of ingredients!


This one is based on the March sketch at the Princesses.

I did another one too but it was too late to take a pic - maybe today...

On the weekend I did these:

This was for Julie's challenge at the SOUL cc. It's a cautionary tale about recommending your cleaner - don't do it!!And this one was for my challenge to scrap a tradition that is special to your family. We're all mad for Sparky and celebrate his birthday with cake and (quite often champagne)!

Not sure where I'm going to put these creations. I managed to find homes in albums for the other 26 LOs I had lying around but I think I'm at capacity - the albums are full and so are the bookcases - what now??

Feeling SOULful

And now an announcement. Drumroll please... I did it! My first creation as part of the SOUL DT was to create a mini album. Many of you are probably giggling in bad delight at this point... but make a mini album I did! The kit was full of pretty papers and flowery embellies - perfect for an album about those two new babies :)

And just for something completely different here is a LO I did for Scrapability Sketches. The challenge was to scraplift a LO from the gallery so chose a fab one by Ebony van der Starre. I like the ways she mixes up her pp and uses funky shapes and colours. Here's my take on her Moodgie Bear LO:

I have no idea why Angus is wearing a sombrero - maybe he's in training for when he becomes a cricket hooligan?? Oh well at least he is sun-safe lol.

Ah, at last...

The strain of a scrap-free week was starting to show but I'm feeling very relaxed and comfortable now ;)

Last night I scrapped this:

It's my take on this week's sketch over at the CIS Sketch Blog (yes it is late and I am very embarrassed that I forgot all about doing it - sorry everyone!). If you ever fancy some fried rice give Angus a call - he cooks a mean dish :)

Today, I scrapped this:

It's the first challenge for the Night at the Movies cc over at Wicked Princesses, based on Krissy's sketch and using a movie quote - my quote is from Psycho - lol.

Then, I scrapped this:


Challenge 3 was to scrap jack another Princess so I chose Kate the Great - you can check out her original LO here: http://www.wickedprincesses.com.au/wickedgallery/showphoto.php?photo=1622 I love Kate's stuff - she has a wonderful way with scallops and doodling and her style is fun and funky :)

And now I think I just might make a start on challenge 2 :)

Grunge it up

Last week the challenge at Scrapability was to do a grunge LO featuring your favourite things.

I knew immediately what pic I wanted to use but the actual LO proved much harder.

This is what I came up with. I embossed the piece of foil by rubbing it over Rob's road case - it came up with a fabulous criss-cross texture that's a bit hard to see in the pic. Not sure grunge is my thing but it was fun :)

If you'd told me 12 months ago that I'd own a pair of running shoes, let alone be in love with them, I would've proclaimed you barking mad - sometimes it's good to change and grow. Other times it's good to run your frustrations out!

So waddya reckon am I a grunge gal?

Time has been in fast forward again this week but I'm pleased to report my furry friends have been behaving themselves!

A couple of scrapping shares. The Scrapability Soup recipe for Week 2 of the comp was to scrap a 8.5x11 LO using a Kraft base, bling, transparency, flower and rub ons - this is my soup:

And here's a LO I did last night - photos courtesy of Zoe's camera - I have no idea which Girl Guide took them - they're from the International Guide Camp in January. LO based on the March sketch over at Challenge Heaven.

And that's it - I can't believe I've scrapped so little! But I've received my first SOUL DT kit and it's a ripper - can't wait to start creating. I went and got my photos printed this morning so guess what I'm off to do? ;)

Lazy Sunday

I love the beginning of each month! I'm like a kid in a lolly shop - so many challenges to choose from! I then spend at least a week doing nothing before I plunge headlong into a scrapping storm cos I don't want to miss out on any of them. Ah who needs balance?!

So, just a couple of scrapping shares. This first one is for the latest CIS sketch. I was working to a tight timeframe - a week of daydreaming and book reading will do that to you! When I had another look at this yesterday I actually added some doodling around the photo and another embellie in the corner but I didn't take a photo so you'll just have to imagine it!


This next one is for Scrapability. These are not the photos I had planned to use with Bek's sketch but Rob killed the printer (he claims it just happened, nothing to do with him!) so it was a choice of going old school or not scrapping at all! This is 8 month old Angus in the baby bath on my parent's front lawn on Christmas Day - it was hot and he was very happy :)


And now for a twin update. Megumi and Hayato went home on Tuesday but Mio will be in hospital for some time yet. Shanon is spending time with her there. Some pics :)

A bit shabby

Today, that title could have so many meanings!

My naughty, naughty Sparky dog escaped yesterday was on the loose for four hours. The most frustrating bit is we knew where he was... little blighter was having a whale of time in the reeds at the pond ACROSS THE ROAD! We tried every tactic we could think of to lure him out and then we tried some others that helpful neigbours made up. Finally just as we'd given up all hope Zoe's friend Lydia reached down and grabbed him - he was filthy - black from head to tail and oh so happy.

A bath restored his coat but a couple of hours later we noticed that both his eyes were swollen and sore - an examination yielded a grass seed from each - ouch! We continued to monitor him but as the evening progressed he was unable to open either eye - so we took a trip to the emergency vet. He had ulcerated both corneas and has to have drops and ointment three times a day for a week - what a dog!

But what else is shabby? Well hopefully this LO I did for Scrapability:


Another pic of Rob's Mum - this time aged 9. I made the green flower - took me ages to get it to stay together and then I crushed it under the heel of my hand and it was perfect lol.

Here's another LO I did over the weekend - it didn't turn out quite as I was hoping - probably because I was so in love with the photo that doing it justice proved a struggle.


And now, just for Kate, here are another two pics of the baby cousins.

First up is Mio (the big sister - born moments before her brother).

And Hayato - don't you love his pose? International baby body language for relaxed :)


Apparently Mio looks like her Dad and Hyatato looks more like his Mum - in these photos you can see that they are quite different. It will be fun to watch them grow.
